Grants to Expand Substance Use Disorder Treatment Capacity in Adult and Family Treatment Drug Courts

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is accepting grant applications to expand substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services within existing adult and family treatment drug courts. Award recipients must implement a coordinated, multisystem approach that integrates the legal authority of treatment drug courts with evidence-based treatment practices. Eligible applicants include states, political subdivisions of states, Indian tribes, tribal organizations, health facilities, programs associated with the Indian Health Service, and other public or nonprofit private entities. SAMHSA expects to issue 19 awards with an individual award ceiling of $400,000 and total program funding of $7,600,000, though the application portal will close early once the first 50 complete, high-quality submissions are received prior to the final July 16, 2026 deadline.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants are States, political subdivisions of States, Indian tribes or tribal organizations (as such terms are defined in section 5304 of title 25), health facilities, or programs operated by or in accordance with a contract or grant with the Indian Health Service, or other public or nonprofit private entities, including faith-based organization.
