Liberty Under Law: The Shared Anglo-American Tradition
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Mission to the United Kingdom, under the Department of State, is seeking proposals for public education and civic-engagement programs that deepen public understanding of the shared Anglo-American common law tradition. Selected organizations must design high-visibility initiatives, such as symposia, traveling exhibitions, speaker exchanges, and digital outreach, to connect foundational principles like the rule of law and due process to contemporary civic life or to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Magna Carta Memorial at Runnymede. Projects may last up to 18 months and require applicants to possess an active SAM.gov registration and a Unique Entity Identifier. Eligible U.S. and U.K. non-profit organizations or universities can apply on a rolling basis until the submission deadline of August 21, 2026, for awards ranging from $100,000 to $500,000.
Eligible Applicants
The following organizations are eligible to apply: • U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, universities, or consortia with demonstrated experience in transatlantic programming. • U.K.-based registered charities, educational institutions, or non-profit organizations that partner with at least one U.S. entity (partnership must be clearly documented in the proposal). • Consortia of the above, provided a single lead applicant assumes legal and financial responsibility.
