Recipient organizations must support India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to optimize laboratory networks, expand molecular testing and genomic sequencing capacity, modernize national health information systems, and strengthen the health workforce. To be deemed responsive, local organizations must provide documentation of an active Foreign Contribution Regulation Act registration, and all applicants must align proposed activities with CDC core priorities while excluding medical interventions for minor gender transitions and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The CDC expects to make up to two awards for a five-year period of performance, with year-one funding anticipated at $6,000,000 and proposals due electronically by July 24, 2026.
