Region 2 Fiscal Year 2025 Wetland Program Development Grants

The EPA's Region 2 Fiscal Year 2025 Wetland Program Development Grants (WPDGs) offers up to $1,730,000 for 6-8 awards to state, Tribal, territory, and local government agencies, as well as interstate/intertribal entities and state universities. Applications are due by April 10, 2026. The grants aim to enhance wetland protection, management, and restoration programs within EPA Region 2 (New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Eligible projects must develop or refine wetland programs and can fall under two tracks: Track One for Wetland Program Plans (WPP) or Track Two for Non-WPP activities based on the Core Element Framework. A minimum 25% cost-share is required, though waivers may apply for Insular Areas and certain Tribal PPGs. Ineligible activities include wetland program implementation, land purchases, and conventional wetland restoration. Projects must align with the Clean Water Act Section 104(b)(3) and support EPA Administrator Zeldin's Five Pillars.
