FY 2026 FDPIR NUTRITION EDUCATION

This Request for Applications (RFA), issued by the USDA Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA), announces the availability of up to $500,000 for the Fiscal Year 2026 Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) Innovative Nutrition Education Cooperative Agreement Project. Under Assistance Listing Number 10.594, the initiative will fund up to two cooperative agreements for a 24-month performance period (September 2026 to September 2028), with individual awards ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. Complete applications must be submitted via Grants.gov by July 31, 2026. The project’s primary goal is to develop, deliver, and evaluate original, culturally appropriate nutrition education resources and programming that promote USDA Foods, align with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (2025–2030), and support healthy choices within Tribal communities. Eligible applicants include Indian Tribal Organizations (ITOs), State agencies administering FDPIR, nonprofit organizations, accredited academic institutions, and national Tribal organizations. To qualify, applicants must provide documentary evidence of FDPIR-related nutrition education or food safety training experience within the past three years, including a detailed cover letter referencing a past work product, two letters of support, and resumes of key project staff. Substantive involvement is expected from both the cooperator and FNA throughout the planning, implementation, and evaluation phases. Proposals will be evaluated on a 120-point scale based on project design, evaluation methods, staff and partner capability, organizational experience, budget appropriateness, and up to 20 potential bonus points for extensive Tribal community experience.
