Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting grant applications for the Centers of Excellence Program to support health professions schools in educating underrepresented minority individuals. Award recipients will operate programs that enhance the academic performance of minority students, improve curricula related to minority health issues, develop career pipelines, and support faculty and student research on health issues affecting minority groups. Eligible applicants are accredited private and public institutions of higher education, including schools of allopathic medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and graduate behavioral or mental health programs. The agency estimates a total program funding of $12,100,000 to support approximately 22 awards with an individual award ceiling of $686,000, and electronic applications must be submitted by February 2, 2027.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible entities are accredited allopathic schools of medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and graduate programs in behavioral or mental health.
