Strengthening global health security in India to contain public health threats and accelerate outbreak response

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Global Health Center is offering a discretionary cooperative agreement to strengthen district, state, and national public health systems in India to contain infectious disease outbreaks. Recipient organizations will work alongside the Government of India to enhance local capacity across five key areas, including public health workforce development, disease surveillance, laboratory systems, emergency preparedness, and antimicrobial resistance. The initiative utilizes a One Health approach in alignment with International Health Regulations, with the core focus of transitioning previously supported global health security initiatives to established Indian government institutions. This opportunity is unrestricted to eligible applicants, does not require cost-sharing, and is estimated to fund two awards with a total program budget of $5,000,000.
