Safe Streets and Roads for All Funding Opportunity
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Transportation’s Office of the Under Secretary for Policy is seeking applications for the FY 2026 Safe Streets and Roads for All discretionary grant program to reduce roadway deaths and serious injuries for all users. The program supports two tracks: planning and demonstration grants for developing or enhancing comprehensive safety action plans, and implementation grants for carrying out projects and strategies identified in existing plans. It is a competitive transportation grant program with emphasis on low-cost high-impact safety measures, equitable investment in underserved communities, and modernization of public safety infrastructure; eligible applicants include metropolitan planning organizations, political subdivisions of states or territories, federally recognized Tribal governments, and multijurisdictional groups, and a 20% non-federal match is generally required except for certain Tribal entities and territories. Applications are due by 5:00 PM EDT on May 26, 2026, must be submitted through Valid Eval rather than Grants.gov, and the program makes up to $993,488,194 available.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants include a metropolitan planning organization (MPO); a political subdivision of a State or territory; and a multijurisdictional group of entities described in any of the aforementioned three types of entities.
