Preventing Youth Overdose: Treatment, Recovery, Education, Awareness and Training

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is offering a federal grant to prevent youth overdose by improving awareness of fentanyl risks, expanding screening and diagnosis for opioid use disorder among youth, increasing access to medications for opioid use disorder, and training support networks. The program supports local efforts to educate youth and equip healthcare providers, families, and school personnel with best practices for supporting youth with opioid use disorder and youth taking medication for opioid use disorder. Eligible applicants include domestic public and private nonprofit entities, including faith-based organizations, Tribes, and Tribal organizations, and no cost sharing or matching is required.
