The Department of the Army’s USAMRAA, through the Defense Health Agency’s Lung Cancer Research Program, is offering the FY26 Lung Cancer Research Program Idea Development Award to support innovative, high-risk/high-reward research aimed at reducing lung cancer deaths and suffering. The award is intended for early-stage ideas that can generate impactful data and new research directions, with a separate New Investigator category for early-career faculty. Applicants must address at least one FY26 LCRP area of emphasis, demonstrate military health relevance, provide preliminary data to support feasibility, and may not propose clinical trials. The program offers about $6.4 million in total funding for approximately eight awards, with up to $800,000 per award over three years and no matching requirement. Applications use a two-step process with a pre-application due June 23, 2026 and a full application due September 2, 2026, and registration in SAM.gov, eBRAP.org, and Grants.gov is required.
