Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information Related to Behavioral Health

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is seeking applications to fund a national Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information Related to Behavioral Health. The selected recipient will develop and disseminate training, technical assistance, and educational resources regarding federal privacy statutes and regulations as they relate to behavioral health data. These resources will serve healthcare practitioners, families, individuals, states, and communities to ensure proper understanding and implementation of patient privacy laws. Eligible applicants include domestic public and private non-profit entities. Applications must be submitted by July 27, 2026, for this cooperative agreement, which has an estimated total program funding and award ceiling of $1,000,000 for a single award.
