National Environmental Education and Training Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for its National Environmental Education and Training Program (NEETP), authorized under the National Environmental Education Act of 1990. The program aims to provide environmental education (EE) training and long-term support to formal and non-formal education professionals across the U.S. to enhance their ability to teach about environmental issues. Approximately $4,740,000 is available for one award, incrementally funded up to $2,370,000 annually for two years. Eligible applicants include U.S. institutions of higher education, non-profit organizations, or a consortium of such institutions. A minimum 25% non-federal cost share is required. The program prioritizes environmental stewardship, outdoor education, environmental risk issue investigations, and AI-enhanced environmental education.
