Grant Opportunity Analysis

The National Institutes of Health, through the National Institute on Aging, plans a future grant opportunity for the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Centers to support geriatrics research and research education aimed at improving independence in older adults. The program will fund centers of excellence that develop or strengthen a common aging research focus with clear opportunities for education and sustained scientific progress. The intended awards will use the P30 activity code, and applicants are expected to organize all OAIC activities around a single theme that could advance independence for substantial populations of older persons. Applications are not being solicited yet; the notice is being issued to give potential applicants time to build collaborations, with an estimated synopsis post date of May 1, 2027, an estimated close date of September 25, 2027, and a contact email of NIA-NOFO-Scientific@nih.gov.
