FY 2026 Stewards of Cultural Heritage
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs is seeking a cooperative agreement to develop and implement FY 2026 Stewards of Cultural Heritage, a program that supports the State Department’s America 250 programming through high-level cultural heritage diplomacy. The project will convene cultural ministers or equivalents from selected countries at a U.S. venue for a one-to-two-day exchange focused on cultural heritage and property protection, innovation and technology, anti-trafficking cooperation, and follow-on steps that advance the agenda. Applicants must use the ECA monitoring framework to identify relevant MODE indicators, set feasible targets, and plan survey-based performance data collection and reporting aligned to the program’s objectives. The competition anticipates one award with a $1,000,000 ceiling and floor, no cost sharing or matching requirement, and proposals are due July 10, 2026.
