Preventing Iranian Proxy and ISIS Activities Along Iraq’s Western Border

The Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism is seeking a cooperative agreement to strengthen Iraq’s ability to investigate and respond to terrorist attacks and incursions along its western border, with a focus on countering Iranian proxy groups and ISIS. The program is expected to improve Iraqi civilian law enforcement and border security capacity, reduce illicit movement of weapons, explosives, people, and goods, and include a train-the-trainer element that helps build an Iraqi-owned training capability.
