The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity is seeking applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Combat Readiness – Medical Research Program Translational Research Award. Funding supports hypothesis-driven, high-impact translational research designed to accelerate trauma care solutions, maximize casualty survivability, and improve treatment closer to the point of injury. Proposed projects must address battlefield diagnostics, triage, and decision aid tools, treatments, or battlefield readiness, and must represent mature efforts with a minimum technology or knowledge readiness level of 4. Awardees can choose between a base award of up to $1.45 million over two years, or an option phase award of up to $2.45 million over three years to include pilot clinical trials. Pre-applications are due by August 17, 2026, and invited full applications must be submitted by November 18, 2026, with an estimated total program budget of $4.37 million to fund approximately three awards.
