The Department of Housing and Urban Development has posted a grant opportunity titled "Housing-Related Hazards & Lead-Based Paint Capital Fund Program". This grant aims to evaluate and reduce residential health hazards in public housing, including lead-based paint, carbon monoxide, mold, radon, fire safety, and asbestos. The grant provides $65 million for competitive grants to public housing agencies to evaluate and reduce housing-related hazards, with a minimum of $25 million specifically allocated for lead-based paint hazards. The funding can be used for lead-based risk assessments, inspections, abatement, interim controls, and clearance examinations. If there are not enough eligible applications for lead-based paint hazards, the remaining funds may be awarded for evaluating and reducing other housing-related hazards. The grant combines two programs, and applicants can apply for funding from each program separately. The application deadline is July 1, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM Eastern time.
