Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is seeking information from contractors capable of supplying scandium metal and/or scandium oxide for potential inclusion in the National Defense Stockpile. The objective of this procurement is to enhance the nation's stockpile to reduce reliance on foreign sources during national emergencies, with a proposed acquisition of 100 kg of scandium metal and 2,000 kg of scandium oxide, to be delivered between January 2027 and December 2032. Interested vendors must specify whether their submission pertains to scandium metal, scandium oxide, or both, and provide details on sourcing, production capacity, and compliance with federal regulations by the response deadline of May 14, 2025.
