The contractor must deliver one brand name 1-18GHz, 20W, precision Type N amplifier under part number MPA-1G-18G-20, with no substitutions allowed. Deliveries are required within 16 weeks of award to Newport, Rhode Island, and the single firm-fixed-price contract will be awarded to the lowest price technically acceptable offeror who is an authorized reseller. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a firm fixed price (FFP) purchase order for the following Maury Microwave items on a Brand Name basis, no substitutions allowed. These parts are proprietary to Maury Microwave and they are the only parts that have been tested and proved to be Fleet ready. They are used as part of the Government’s current infrastructure and are the only ones compatible due to weight, depth, and calibration requirements. All legacy software systems are only applicable to these parts. Also, all current operators are trained to use these parts. An alternate would require the Navy to develop other calibration procedures, which would cause unacceptable cost and schedule delays; therefore, it is in the Government’s best interest to award on a Brand Name Only basis.

This requirement is solicited as a 100% small business set-aside as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office of Small Business Programs. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 334516– Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The Small Business Size Standard is 1,000 Employees.

**Question:**

One vendor advised that they were unable to locate the specified part number MPA-1G-18G-20 in the current Maury Microwave product literature. They asked whether the intended part number might instead be MPA-2G-18G-20.

Could you please confirm whether the part number listed in the solicitation is correct, or if there has been an update?

**Answer:**

MPA-1G-18G-20 is correct.  I think it's a custom part number.  It's 1 Ghz - 18 Ghz.  The  MPA-2G-18G-20 is 2GHz-18GHz and does not meet our requirement.
