Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) Services
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), on behalf of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, is procuring specialized Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) services. The contractor must provide an integrated cryogenic workflow for the Laboratory of Cell Structure and Dynamics, encompassing cellular specimen preparation, fluorescence-guided targeting, cryogenic focused ion beam milling, cryogenic specimen screening, and high-resolution cryo-electron tomography data acquisition and reconstruction. This work is intended as a sole-source award to the University of Virginia Molecular Electron Microscopy Core to avoid specimen risk and research delays, with a proposed period of performance from September 30, 2026, through September 29, 2027. Capability statements from interested parties to challenge this sole-source determination must be submitted via email to Roxane Burkett at roxane.burkett@nih.gov by September 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST.
