Low-Temperature (LT) Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM)
Contract Opportunity Analysis
Brookhaven Science Associates, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy at Brookhaven National Laboratory, is seeking a firm-fixed-price low-temperature scanning probe microscope to integrate into an existing multiprobe ultra-high-vacuum surface analysis system at the Center for Functional Nanomaterials. The work includes design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of the LT-SPM and a new UHV SPM chamber, along with the required scanner, sample stage, removable magnetic field assembly, electronics, wiring, and cabling. The system must use the existing cryostat and remain compatible with the Scienta Omicron MATRIX SPM controller, with on-site integration and testing to demonstrate atomic resolution for both STM and AFM; the performance period is 20 weeks and the work is to be performed in Upton, New York. Quotes must be submitted by email with the signed quotation pricing sheet by June 23, 2026, and offerors must be registered in SAM or complete the foreign-vendor form, with the procurement subject to the Buy American Act.
