Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Grenova, Inc. to acquire a new Living Measurement Systems Foundry automation system and modernize an existing government-owned system. The contractor must deliver a complete, integrated laboratory automation system supporting automated microbial culture, sample preparation, and analytical workflows, along with a replacement Hamilton Company MicroLab STAR liquid handling platform. This project requires extensive integration of multi-manufacturer equipment, site acceptance testing, and preservation of the existing system's automation functionality to ensure interchangeable measurement performance. The anticipated firm-fixed-price contract will feature an 18-month base period for system delivery and installation, followed by three one-year option periods for maintenance and support. Capabilities statements from interested sources must be submitted to Rudolph Spencer at rudolph.spencer@nist.gov by September 24, 2026.
