Purchase of Skydio Aircraft and Accessories
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration is purchasing brand-name Skydio unmanned aerial systems, accessories, and subscription services to support its Aviation Division. The specific requirements include eight Skydio X1 Starter Kits, eight Skydio NightSense infrared attachments, eight 12-month Skydio X10 Patrol-LED DFR cellular data plans, four Skydio R10 Patrol Kits, and four Skydio R10 Plans. To ensure officer safety and operational continuity, the agency requires the specific brand name and part numbers because Skydio is the only National Defense Authorization Act-compliant drone with the necessary autonomous flight capabilities, and all delivered items must originate from and be manufactured in the United States. Deliveries are to be completed at the DEA Aviation Operations Center in Fort Worth, Texas, by December 31, 2026. Electronic quotes, which must include an authorized reseller letter from Skydio, must be submitted to Kathrine Leach at Kathrine.r.leach@dea.gov by September 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
