Fourier-transform spectrometer
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology, within the Department of Commerce, is seeking sources for a Fourier-transform spectrometer to support its SERI program for measurement science related to illicit drug identification and quantification. The instrument is intended to enable characterization of metamaterial infrared drug sensors and spectroscopic detection of drug molecules for a portable drug-sensing imaging system. NIST is looking for a compact FTS with continuous spectral coverage from 2 mm to 11 mm or greater, 0.5 cm-1 or better spectral resolution, an MCT-cooled detector, temperature-stabilized reference laser, and other specified performance characteristics, with work centered in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is a combined sources sought and notice of intent to sole source, with the Government indicating potential award to Bruker Scientific, LLC if no alternate sources are identified, and respondents are asked to email capability information to the listed contact and be active in SAM.
