The Department of Commerce’s NOAA, through the National Weather Service, is seeking a contractor to completely remove and replace the roof at the Weather Forecast Office in Jackson, Kentucky. The work covers removal of the existing asphalt shingle roof and installation of a new architectural asphalt shingle roof, with all supervision, labor, materials, tools, and equipment needed to complete the project. The scope includes replacing damaged decking, adding rigid insulation and leak barriers, installing new metal trim and flashings, reusing and modifying existing flashing, reinstalling lightning protection, and providing a 25-year watertight system warranty; the project is set aside for small business, has a 60-day period of performance from notice to proceed, and requires work to begin within five business days of notice to proceed. Quotes are due by 10:00 a.m. MDT on May 22, 2026 and must be emailed to kerri.coffey@noaa.gov, and a site visit is highly recommended.
