Control System Replacement for Stamford Hurricane Barrier, Stamford, CT

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, has issued a notice of intent to require specific brand-name hydraulic and electronic components for the Stamford Hurricane Barrier Control System Replacement project in Stamford, Connecticut. The scope of work involves purchasing and installing specialized components from manufacturers such as Bosch Rexroth, HYDAC, Des-Case, Honeywell, Dwyer Omega, and Lisle Corporation to rehabilitate, modernize, and integrate the barrier's main Hydraulic Power Units and dual-cylinder manifold assemblies. These brand-name parts are necessary to ensure precise physical compatibility, maintain the critical synchronized movement of the barrier's massive gate cylinders, and prevent catastrophic structural failure.
