The Department of the Navy, NAVFACSYSCOM Atlantic, is seeking sources for the fabrication and construction of a Virginia-class propulsor enclosure and material handling bridges at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, to support the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program. The required scope includes fabricating a portable, modular five-story work enclosure and two steel material handling bridges, along with constructing a concrete slab storage pad and permanent bridge supports. Eligible contractors must be certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction, deliver structures by barge, and demonstrate past experience with multi-stage steel fabrication, concrete work, and epoxy and galvanized coatings. The design-bid-build contract has an estimated construction cost between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000.
