Airedale Chiller Maintenance - Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The 48th Contracting Squadron (48 CONS) intends to issue a single-source contract to Airedale International Air Conditioning for preventative and corrective maintenance of government-owned Airedale chillers at RAF Lakenheath, UK. This notice is for information and market research only, not a request for competitive proposals. The 48th Civil Engineering Squadron (48 CES) requires these services for two Airedale Turbo chiller systems supporting mission-critical facilities. Airedale is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and the maintenance requires proprietary parts, diagnostic software, and engineering data. The government has determined Airedale by Modine is the only source. However, responsible sources can submit a capability statement by January 23, 2026, demonstrating their ability to perform the maintenance without relying on the OEM for proprietary components or data, including proof of access to proprietary tools and genuine OEM parts. If no affirmative responses are received, a single-source award will be issued to Airedale.
