Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management Idaho State Office is seeking a contractor to advance its Abandoned Mine Lands program through a digital inventory project. The selected contractor will utilize advanced remote sensing technologies, including high-resolution LiDAR and machine-learning feature extraction, to digitally inventory, spatially document, and risk-rank an estimated 14,000 to 15,000 abandoned mine features across approximately 12 million acres of land in Idaho. Core responsibilities include contract administration, project planning, digital inventory execution, and developing a prioritized fieldwork plan. Evaluation will be based on technical capabilities, applicant qualifications, past performance, and price, with the contract period of performance running from August 10, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
