ROD

The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, is procuring specialty rods to be used in a crucial shipboard system. The contractor must manufacture and deliver rods made of QQ-N-286 hot finished annealed and age hardened material in accordance with Navship drawing 518-4674751, item 1. Because these rods are designated as Level I Special Emphasis material, strict requirements apply, including a total prohibition on weld repairs of the QQ-N-286 material, ultrasonic inspection on starting material, and quality system conformity to ISO-9001 standards. Offers will be evaluated using past performance, and the resulting contract will be a DO-rated order under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System. Certification data must be submitted via Wide Area Work Flow to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard at least 20 days prior to the scheduled delivery, which must occur within 365 days of the contract effective date.
