Countermeasure Magazines

The Department of Defense, through the Department of the Air Force's Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), is seeking qualified vendors to produce countermeasure flare magazines capable of carrying the MJU-68/B flare and interfacing with the AN/ALE-52 Dispensing System. A total of 846 magazines are required, which must meet stringent airworthiness qualifications as outlined in the F-22 Environmental Control Document, including tests for salt-fog, vibration, gunfire, and temperature extremes. This procurement addresses a critical capability gap in the current inventory, which cannot accommodate the new flare, thereby impacting defensive countermeasure deployment. Interested vendors are encouraged to submit their qualifications, technology details, and rough cost estimates by March 9, 2026, with manufacturing expected to commence by October 2026.
