USDA-FS GWJ NF Call for Quals Design-Build Virginia Creeper Bridge(s) /Trail(s) Reconstruction
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Agriculture, specifically the USDA Forest Service, is seeking qualified contractors for the design-build reconstruction of the Virginia Creeper Bridge and Trail, heavily damaged by Tropical Storm Helene in September 2024. This project involves the restoration of approximately 18 miles of the Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail, including the repair or replacement of 31 rail-to-trail structures, with an estimated contract value between $200 million and $300 million. The reconstruction is critical for restoring safe access and functionality to this popular recreational trail, which spans Washington and Grayson Counties in Virginia.
