TANKER (LNG) VOYAGE CHARTER
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command has issued a sources sought notice to conduct market research for a Liquefied Natural Gas voyage charter. The selected contractor will transport a minimum of 50,000 MMBTU of LNG to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to facilitate the cooldown process of a new terminal and storage tanks. Eligible U.S. flag vessels or barges must meet strict physical parameters, including a gross volumetric capacity of 4,000 to 15,000 cubic meters, a maximum draft of 10 meters, and a maximum displacement of 41,000 metric tons. Target delivery windows are scheduled for either September 28 through October 2, 2026, or October 19 through October 23, 2026. Responses detailing vessel capabilities and pricing are due via email to Jordan Morrison and Franklin Orvin by 1000 hours Eastern Time on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
