Morgantown Field Office (MFO) Insect Taxonomy Support
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking professional insect taxonomy and screening services to support the Morgantown Field Office forest health staff in Morgantown, West Virginia. The selected contractor will sort and identify trap samples, screen raw insect samples, identify targeted wood-boring beetles and pollinators to the species level, prepare voucher specimens, and maintain a secure real-time database. Work must focus on pests collected primarily within the Washington, D.C., and mid-Atlantic regions, and performance will be evaluated based on relevant past performance, technical approach, and price. The resulting firm-fixed-price contract will feature a one-year base period from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, plus four subsequent one-year option periods.
