Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Park Service, within the Department of the Interior, is issuing a solicitation for a firm-fixed-price construction contract to rehabilitate fire suppression equipment at the Sea Turtle Science and Recovery Lab at Padre Island National Seashore in Texas. The work includes restoring the fire protection system to full operational status by reprogramming or repairing waterflow switches, replacing or repairing gauges, inspecting ITM tags, and rebuilding backflow prevention assemblies. The project addresses deficiencies identified in a prior inspection and is to be completed in accordance with NFPA 25, NFPA 72, the 2024 International Fire Code, and Texas requirements, using manufacturer-approved parts and licensed technicians while minimizing disturbance to sea turtle conservation activities. This is a total small business set-aside with a value of less than $25,000, offers are due March 25, 2026, a site visit is encouraged for April 2, 2026, and quotes are to be submitted by email to Joseph Kirk.
