The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is seeking a replacement research vessel for the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa. The contractor must design and construct a new, fully outfitted 31-to-35-foot aluminum catamaran research vessel powered by dual 300 HP outboard gasoline engines, capable of supporting up to nine science and dive personnel. Built to American Boat and Yacht Council and U.S. Coast Guard standards, the vessel must feature a forward cabin, a self-draining aft working deck with specialized dive configurations, and have all fabrication and trial requirements completed within 15 months of contract award.
