RFI for MAGIS-100 Suspended Work Platform System
Contract Opportunity Analysis
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, a Department of Energy contractor, is issuing a Request for Information to identify vendors capable of designing, fabricating, and potentially assembling and installing a suspended work platform system for the MAGIS-100 experiment. The selected vendor will need to deliver a moveable scaffolding system with specific dimensions, an extension for platform reaching, a protective roof for falling object deflection, and a load rating exceeding 8,000 pounds. Key technical requirements include ensuring the system is stable enough for mechanical assembly tasks, supports a 500-pound point load, and strictly adheres to OSHA safety standards within a 100-meter deep vertical shaft located in Batavia, Illinois. Interested parties must submit design sketches, budgetary cost estimates, and assembly procedures to primary contact Danielle Amico at damico@fnal.gov by July 14, 2026.
