Nikon Optical Microscope– Combined Sources Sought/Notice of Intent to Sole Source
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology, through its Physical Measurements Lab Quantum Nanoelectronics Group, is seeking market information for an automated Nikon optical microscope and related high-speed lock-in/servo capability, with a stated intent to sole source to Nikon Metrology, LLC if no alternate sources are identified. The microscope is needed to visualize, manipulate, and measure single atomic layer crystals for quantum device fabrication and should support imaging silicon wafers and 2D quantum materials in both visible and infrared light. Key requirements include reflected and transmitted imaging, automated stage and focus control, image stitching, multi-focus image stacking, glove-box remote operation for air-sensitive crystals, and compatibility with NIST’s existing Nikon MM-400SLU so shared optics, adapters, illuminators, and software can be used. Responses should be emailed to Tracy Retterer and Forest Crumpler in Word, Excel, or PDF format as soon as possible and preferably before the closing date and time, with questions submitted by email within five days of the initial posting.
