The purpose of this document is to outline the procurement requirements for two YASA 750R axial flux motors, to be used in a new coaxial test stand being developed by NASA and the Army. The motors will independently drive the rotors of the test stand, which can operate with air or heavy gas. This procurement task does not include system integration, which will be managed separately by Arc Energy under an existing contract. Key specifications for the motors include the provision of 387 Nm of continuous torque at speeds of 600 to 1550 RPM, a compact design for packaging within the testbed, and a large through bore for coaxial rotor shaft operation. The contractor is also required to supply operational manuals, performance curves, and CAD drawings for the motors. Deliveries will be made to Arc Energy, LLC in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and NASA Technical Representative Robert Thornburgh will oversee the process to ensure compliance with technical standards. This document serves as a structured request for proposals and is central to the government’s collaborative efforts in advancing aerospace technology.
