Combined Sources Sought Notice and Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Piezoelectric Z-stage Upgrade for Optical Microscope

The Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to procure a piezoelectric z-stage upgrade for an existing Zeiss Axio Observer 7 optical microscope. The contractor will be required to provide a system with a travel range in z of at least 500 micrometers, a resolution of 1 nanometer or less, and a reproducibility of +/- 5 nanometers or less. The upgrade must integrate with the microscope's existing x-y stage and be controllable via the Zeiss Zen microscope control software. While NIST intends to issue a sole source award to Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC, interested sources may submit capability statements to demonstrate their ability to meet these requirements.
