NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE-KY7A LOAD TAP CHANGER RETROFIT SERVCIES

The Department of Energy’s Western Area Power Administration is planning a sole-source award to Reinhausen Manufacturing, Inc. for retrofit services on the KY7A load tap changer at Headgate Rock Substation in Parker, Arizona. The work includes mobilizing to the site, performing pretesting and inspection, removing the existing load tap changer, installing a new RMV-II with transition throat, relocating the control cabinet, re-gasketing and leak testing the unit, completing vacuum and oil fill procedures, and conducting final testing and documentation. The acquisition is being pursued because Reinhausen is identified as the only vendor able to provide the required parts and service for the repair, and the effort will be conducted under FAR Part 12 using NAICS code 811310.
