This document addresses questions and answers regarding a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system implementation for a government entity operating in a Microsoft Teams environment, though Teams telephony is not a viable solution. The new VoIP system will be standalone and will not utilize existing network infrastructure. Key requirements include 43 single-line phones, 2 multi-line phones, 1 conference phone, 4 common area phones, and 40 office phones, with 4 phones requiring wall mounting and one requiring a button add-on module. A single SIP trunk is needed. The government will not provide or configure Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports/switches. CAT5e cabling is not in place and will not be shared with existing PC lines. Rack space, power, HVAC, and existing racks are available for equipment, and a dedicated 120V/60Hz/15A AC circuit will be provided. An Uninterruptible Power Supply is already in place.
