The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is seeking a Sole Source Justification (SSJ) for a new, firm-fixed-price contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. to procure Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems and cellular drive test analysis tools. This acquisition, identified under FAR 13.501, is for commercial products exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold but not exceeding $7.5 million. The justification states that Motorola's products offer unique, proprietary capabilities essential for DEA field investigations, including features for improved risk mitigation and enhanced performance not available from other vendors. Market research confirmed Motorola as the sole provider of these critical devices, which integrate unique features like SIM-free attached mode drive test surveys and 5G network probing.
