Request for Quote (RFQ) for Detection Canines (FOK9) for the Border Patrol K9 Center in Front Royal, VA
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, is seeking to procure up to 33 single-purpose, untrained candidate detection canines for the Field Operations Canine Academy in Front Royal, Virginia. Contractors must source and deliver sporting or herding breeds aged 12 to 36 months that can pass rigorous pre-screening, medical, and behavioral evaluations. These evaluations assess the animals for excellent physical health, freedom from genetic conditions like dysplasia, and high genetic drives for hunt, prey, and retrieval. Offers will be evaluated using a three-phase process prioritizing breed conformance, availability, open order status, past performance, and price, followed by physical inspection of the dogs. Quotes must be submitted via email to Contract Specialist Danielle Brandao Lacerda at danielle.brandaolacerda@dhs.gov by August 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST, with questions due by August 12, 2026.
