Synopsis: Lunar Enabling Infrastructure Accelerator (LEIA) -Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) NextSTEP-3 Appendix A
Contract Opportunity Analysis
NASA Glenn Research Center, on behalf of NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate, plans to issue a NextSTEP-3 Broad Agency Announcement appendix for the Lunar Enabling Infrastructure Accelerator to advance key lunar surface and cislunar technology capabilities. The effort seeks proposals from U.S. institutions to mature and demonstrate vertical solar arrays, in situ resource utilization oxygen production systems, Stirling radioisotope generators, in-space manufacturing, and advanced nanomaterials production. The work is intended to reduce risk and advance these technologies to roughly Technology Readiness Levels 5 to 6, while NASA also seeks capability statements from interested small businesses and HBCU/MI participants to help determine competition and subcontracting approaches. The draft BAA is anticipated around June 2026, the final BAA around August 2026, and offers are anticipated around September 2026; questions must be submitted by June 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM EDT to Linda M. Nabors and Ian Park by email, and any release will be posted on SAM.gov.
