The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to negotiate a sole-source purchase order with Vaisala to procure replacement radiosondes. The contractor must deliver Vaisala-manufactured RS41-SGP radiosondes, which are critical integrated components that allow the Automatic Radiosonde Observing Systems to maintain accurate barometric pressure readings during weather balloon launches. Performance will take place at the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, Missouri, to support the collection of atmospheric data essential for weather forecasting. Interested firms that believe they can meet these requirements must submit substantiating documentation to Contract Specialist Nikki Smith at nikki.smith@noaa.gov within 15 days of the pre-solicitation notice publication.
