Preventative Maintenance - Leica Instruments
Contract Opportunity Analysis
USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service Eastern Lab is conducting market research for a full-service preventative maintenance agreement for four Leica instruments used by the Pathology Branch for diagnostic histopathology work. The scope includes at least one annual preventative maintenance visit per instrument and unlimited on-site corrective repairs, with the contractor providing labor, tools, and parts subject to availability for the Leica HistoCore Biocut Manual Microtome, Leica IP Slide Printer, and two Leica RM2235 Manual Microtomes. Services are to be performed at the Eastern Lab in Athens, Georgia, with a 48-hour on-site response requirement, Section 508 compliance for electronic reporting or interfaces unless waived, and explicit confirmation of OEM or certified third-party parts and service capability for the legacy RM2235 units. The government intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order with a base year and four option years if parts remain readily available, and interested vendors are asked to submit a capability statement of no more than five pages with company, technical, lifecycle, and past performance information to the listed contact email by the stated date placeholder.
