Notice of Intent to issue a Sole Source Award to generate and optimize high-affinity nucleic acid aptamers capable of semi-quantitative detection of TFV-DP and/or TFV for use in both plate-based assays and POC platforms.
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of HIV Prevention/Laboratory Branch, is planning a sole-source fixed-price purchase order to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for work to generate and optimize high-affinity nucleic acid aptamers for semi-quantitative detection of TFV-DP and/or TFV. The effort covers development of aptamers for use in both plate-based assays and point-of-care platforms. UNC was identified as uniquely qualified because of its role as a co-inventor of the FTC aptamer and its established methods that align with CDC’s current assay development work, with performance in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations, but responses received within 15 days of issuance will be considered, and any quotation should be emailed to zvm0@cdc.gov by 06/02/2026.
