Mid-IR/Far-IR Optical Frequency Comb
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology, through its Material Measurement Laboratory, is seeking optical frequency comb systems to support the CHIPS Metrology Program and the FIRVIR project. The procurement calls for three new, non-experimental systems consisting of two long-wave infrared frequency combs, one mid-wave infrared frequency comb, associated comb locking and powering electronics, installation, transportation, and demonstration. The systems are to be delivered and installed at NIST in Gaithersburg, Maryland, within 40 to 44 weeks after award, and the work includes strict cybersecurity and privacy requirements as well as a minimum one-year warranty. Quotations are due by April 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time and must be submitted by email in four volumes: Technical, Demonstrated Experience, Price, and Terms and Conditions; award is intended as a single firm-fixed-price purchase order using a best-value evaluation with non-priced factors more important than price.
