The Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers Portland District, is seeking sources for the repair of overhead lifting devices at the John Day Dam powerhouse in Rufus, Oregon. The selected contractor will perform weld repairs on cracks identified across five specific pieces of equipment, which include the 590-ton spreader beam, two 310-ton spreader beams, a main and intermediate shaft lifting device, and a runner lifting device. Work must be conducted at the contractor's facility using AWS D1.1 and ASTM E709 methods and inspection standards, and it will require the abatement of lead paint at the crack sites followed by spot repainting.
